Summer 2019 - Federal Work-Study Information/Application
Program Dates
The Summer Federal Work-Study Program begins on May 20, 2019 and ends August 18, 2019.
FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
A student’s eligibility is determined by the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 FAFSA. A submitted application for Summer Federal Work-Study cannot be processed until Penn electronically receives the student’s FAFSA from the U.S. Department of Education Central Processing System..
Award Amount
An eligible student will receive an award according to the session selected on the application - $3,000 for Summer Session One; $3,000 for Summer Session Two; or $6,000 for both summer sessions
Off-Campus Employment
Only nonprofit organizations and government agencies may employ work-study students. All employers are required to have an off-campus work-study agreement with Penn. If you are interested in off-campus employment, you must first contact Tam Nguyen before you begin working. Please send an e-mail to
